HAIKU POEMS

1. An old silent pond...
A frog jumps into the pond,
splash! Silence again.

2. Autumn moonlight—
a worm digs silently
into the chestnut.

3. Lightning flash—
what I thought were faces
are plumes of pampas grass.

4. A summer river being crossed
how pleasing
with sandals in my hands!

5. Light of the moon
Moves west, flowers' shadows
Creep eastward.


6. Everything I touch

with tenderness, alas,
pricks like a bramble.

8. As the wind does blow
Across the trees, I see the
Buds blooming in May

For someone to shelter me
